Stanley

Hi, I’m Stanley! I’m 2 years old, a black Labrador, and I’m basically the cheekiest boy you’ll ever meet. I love water, balls, and causing mischief with my big brother Ozzy (he’s a red Lab but don’t hold that against him).

When I was just a pup, I had something called bilateral elbow dysplasia. It meant my front
legs hurt and I couldn’t run or play properly. I tried to stay happy and brave (because I’m a good boy), but it was tough not being able to keep up with my brother.

After my surgery, I started coming to ARC to see Rhona and Fran. They gave me hydrotherapy (best thing ever — splashing is my superpower!), acupuncture (I was so relaxed I snoozed), and special exercises at home to help me get strong again.

Rhona and Fran are my heroes. They were so kind to me (and gave the best cuddles). I get so
excited to go to ARC that I cry when I see Fran every month — I just can’t wait for my visit!
Over time, my legs got stronger, and now I can chase balls, swim for fun, and play with Ozzy like I always wanted. My humans say I’m much happier and more comfortable now — and
they smile a lot more too.
